First things first. Give your ears a break, try and figure out what caused it. Headphones are terrible for this because they screw with your volume perception.
Sometimes sinus issues, allergy season, changes in weather can cause temporary changes (usually negative) in our hearing.
I seen an ENT twice a year because I'm actually neurotic, we mostly chat about Ear physiology stuff but he tells me everything is OK and the 'problem' I was having suddenly goes away.
I've had it since 14 after a stupid little accident. As @m17xr2b said, greet it as a friend, a dumb good-for-nothing friend, not an enemy. Mine can get pretty loud that it makes sleep difficult, so I just imagine myself in a tropical jungle with a concerto of crickets. Works everytime. Anyway, I hope your condition isn't permanent and goes away quickly!
To be fair i've used CIEMs pretty constantly for the past 2 weeks, including a 12 hour transatlantic flight and now using them in my office job all the time.
Never heard of the dietary cause but i'll look into it.
Good, now treat your ears to some silence after peak moments of loudness. Some young people do not realise how important their hearing is until they lose it. You can still enjoy music and arts if you take breaks from noise...
Besides just listening to music too loud, it could easily be a side effect of a medicine, sinus inflammation/congestion, or TMJ. Don’t panic. You can also reassure yourself that your hearing is fine without a doctor’s appointment by doing some tests on one of the reputable hearing apps, such as Mimi.
