No hole. Ball shaped. They inject jam into it. Absolutely necessary that it is a completely synthetic jam that owes more to colouring than to fruit. But hey, it works!
@Thad E Ginathom We have them, but they are commonly referred to as "jelly donuts" here. Agreed on necessity of synthetic sweet goo. Also often powdered on the outside, which is necessary for making biggest mess possible.
