Good thing we have such a robust framework in place to hold the police accountable for their actions….wait, I got that wrong, we have police unions all over this country doing everything they can to limit accountability. Thank god this attempted murderer got fired and didn’t up in prison or anything

It’s wild and horrendous, man. I don’t get it at all and there were actually idiots on social media trying to defend this guy.

I'm glad the local police union said f**k this guy (silence / Klingon discommendation instead of the usual sticking up for them)

Or you know... hire some competent people, have some accountability, guns only when necessary... like every other job in America.

Maybe end qualified immunity in cases of gross neglect / incompetence, no more gubbamin unions, and lawsuits come out of their pensions instead of taxpayer dollars. i.e. forced competency, also like most many other jobs in America.

"unions all over the country doing everything they can to limit accountability" - I'm overall neutral on unions as a whole, but it's funny how neither side ever talks about this as an inevitable downside of unions, much less gov unions.

^ I will admit quality of policing in the US also seems to vary largely depending on location.

@mitochondrium Don’t sweat it, man. Yeah, this shit happens a lot compared to other countries but you’re very unlikely to have any issues like that.

I do not sweat too much, in Germany when you are pulled over by the police you do not have to put your hands on the steering wheel, you may even put your hands in a jacket pocket, it is just different, but hey very much looking forward to see my 11 yo meet his American grand dad for the first time
