Around 1986, the assistant to one of the founders of modern computing told him, “I think we should invest a little in A.I.” He replied, “I’d like to see a little I. first.” (I was told this by someone who was there. The fact that he didn’t name names told me how famous his boss was amongst professors and how high his security clearance must have been.)

So not OK. I hope it ends up like other “game changing” techs like AR,VR, IOT, blockchain, etc. Mostly hype, and fades when the next new thing comes along.

I ask myself: How much has much as my family spent on chatGPT or AI compared to Netflix / Amazon Prime.
