As I've started dipping my toe in, I strongly regret living amid so many hipsters. It's really freaking hard to find decent deals in the SF area these days.

I picked up the Muddy Waters/Stones live at the checkerboard theater. It's a really interesting listen.

We should do a vinyl trip sometime. Go hit up Montana or Dallas or something.

there's a good show in Buena Park every month that's been going on for decades, the Greter Orange County record show. I know there's one day and one for Oct and Nov. You can try that for filling out your cravings.

Dropped into Amoeba here in L.A. yesterday. What a zoo! Much prefer Soundstation on La Tijera. Just getting back into vinyl, so still picking up some old faves:[IMG]

Last week was Tangerine Dream week. I spent way too much damn money on each LP, I need better self control. Pressing quality ranges from OK to pretty shitty but the mastering is great.

This is an original pressing of Aja AB 1006 with the B crossed out in the runout, replaced with A. From what I've read though it's still one of the good ones. Cleaned it up, still a fair amount of pops and clicks but, WOW, sounds great!

Just listened to this Ray Charles album, wasn't familiar with it. IMHUMBLEO, HORRIBLE. He's singing half the time in a falsetto. And the mix is bizarre, rolls off hard at about 80Hz, where there's a slight hump, then huge dip until around 2K as best I can tell. Could this have a different curve than the RIAA? I don't know much about that, care to educate anyone?

Yes, Amoeba is a zoo, but if you want to see the exotic animals, the zoo is where you go.

Seattle is a great record-hunting town. Portland, a little less so.

Thom Yorke vinyl is typically amazing sounding...don't know how he keeps putting out consistent high quality like that.

I recently picked this up with Jeff Buckley's Grace on 45s. Wow. Required for every player. Even sounds great on cheap turntables.
