    Well, its just a different sound, but a much easier one to like due to the overall balance. Not as revealing, not as detailed, more pace. It think like the Senn 800 vs 600 argument. And if you consider the difference in price ($2K new vs $16.5), well.

    But I have doubts about this being digital v analogue.
    
    I've got my own rips (they call them needle-drops these days? Could never get my head around that one!) of scratchy old LPs that I play in preference to the brand-new digital-clean CD rip. Yes, they sound "better." But the source I'm listening to is still digital. ...

    I also have CDs that. to my ear, have always sounded the same as the LP. They tend to be the older ones and I wonder if mastering methods have changed. But I think that... it's all in the mastering rather than the media,
