    I'm call BS on any sort of hd660/S...for now. Scouring the net, RMAF impressions, Sennheiser's site reveal absolutely nothing. Why wouldn't this be a big roll out at RMAF for Sennheiser? Mid fi is where the money is made and most of the units are sold. Anyway, I hope to be wrong about this. Nothing would please me more.

    They sounded slightly brighter to me than the Eikon at least. Too hard to tell about staging or resolution.

    I dunno, anything that works well with biocellulose stuff. Marv probably knows better than I do. They tend to scale even with nicer tube amps, but seeing as they're sensitive, just make sure the amp is quiet.

    Tube. Tube and biocellulose always seem to go well. Also takes a bit of the edge off. Magni 2 and HP-3 was just a bit too edgy. Bareable, but too edgy.

    Someone on Reddit said they saw them at the Headphone Heaven event in the Netherlands this weekend, Sennheiser is a German company so I guess it makes sense. Looking forward to seeing them, love my 650s.

    Random note: I didn't want to give the impression that I'm trying to poo-poo on the new Massdrop IEMs, and I wanted to add a quick clarification to my impressions that I've never cared for balanced armature, multi-driver IEMs. Most know this, but some might not. They have this particular sound or timbre to them that doesn't get along with me. But I know a lot of folks are really happy with this sort of stuff, and I'd encourage anyone to take their opinion over mine on the matter if they are OK with these sorts of IEMs. (And of course I don't know the output impedance of whatever stuff I tried, including my S8 phone, so that could screw things up tonally.)

    Don't apologize. Go ahead and poo poo it. The odd harmonics piss you off. Does the same thing to me. It's why I use the Sony players with the S master stuff (smoother treble). Maybe one day, something else will replace BA drivers, but until then...

    @CEE TEE is a friend. As long as it's about gear, and you are not saying untrue things like he and Will @ Massdrop raped the old Star Wars movies, it's fine.

    No BS on this. He heard them at the Headphone Heaven Show in Rotterdam. They rushed them by courier from Germany to the show. They were the first production model. Probably why no rollout at RMAF. Seems like poor timing on Sennheiser's part. The rep said they will be available in a couple of weeks. They haven't even put them on the website yet. Check the link earlier in the thread posted by @stratocaster . Hopefully someone will post some pics of it from the show. Apparently most people were more interested in the HD800S, and of course the HE-1. Frans thought they were the Massdrop HD6XX at first.

    Looks like you may get your wish.

    Can't say as I blame you. If it was coming from almost anyone else other than Frans, I'd be very skeptical too. But you know how polished marble can distract people. :p If this turns out to be real......... HD650 with improved sub-bass. Will be hard to resist. If not true. Great practical joke, but completely out of character.

    If true, supposed to be entirely different driver. Hope we will be able to find out soon.

    Edit: took a closer look at the picture. Anyone seen a Senn with the logo in that position before?

    Very interesting, looks like they reinforced the spider. Maybe they took some inspiration from the kiss mod? I'm guessing the main difference is in the cups and drivers, even the cable looks the same. Can't wait for high res pics, more info and listening impressions of course.
