The anti-rush. This is pitch black and awesomely weird

 

Night and day difference, depending on setup. If I ever needed to AB another DAC, this would be my test track. VERY pleased with how the Yggdrasil A1 renders everything, Bifrost MB1 tends to smooth it over too much, so it sounds boring. In general, the A1 treats the Final Fantasy X soundtrack amazingly well. Lots of "I never noticed this before" and "holy schitt" moments.

 

The new Younha album came out yesterday and it's fantastic

No one can replace Chester, and I'm glad they didn't try to. I think she sounds great!

I actually purchased two new CDs off Amazon, breaking a pretty long streak of buying used off Discogs!

Both aren't the greatest on the Dynamic Range meter, but they are both a tad better than the Vampire Weekend CDs I recently purchased:

This whole soundtrack always had that "busy, cluttered" feel to it. It's had one of the most dramatic responses to the Yggdrasil's phase inverter switch I've heard yet. Now I need to test the Guilty Gear Xrd soundtrack on it, which always had the same problem and I always found it physically uncomfortable to listen to.
