Sister went to a salon for blonde highlights (she's brunette), bottom 70% of hair turned straight up grey. She's crying. GDI.

@JK47, "I didn't go bald, the hair moved to my chest"

You're lucky. The hair on my chest went grey and the head stuff started growing out of my nose and ears.

I thought I could look distinguished and romantic in old[er] age, with a thick head of silver hair. All I got was the thick head.

Went back to the salon almost immediately after. They tried fixing it a bit and now it's an ashy blonde colour at the ends.

It kinda sucks since my sister was pretty fond of her hair, but as you say, it does grow back. Ah well, maybe she'll just thwock the lot off and rock a pixie cut or something.

Glad they were able to fix it at least a little. Sorry to hear about the hair though. On the plus side, at least she escaped without face/scalp injuries. I've heard some real horror stories...

What to do when you get into a convo with someone who says all DACs are the same and that an ODAC is endgame?

Granted, it was my fault for initiating and suggesting an ODAC may be a bottleneck given the rest of his chain (they posted a WTB for one in a FB group I'm in for $90), but gah.

Also, @ButtUglyJeff, they do save money in the end, though, so not sure who the actual winners are LOL

Ha Ha... even I would say that it does a great job. Going back to mine wouldn't make me suffer. Good enough for my ears, at least!

But be-all-and-end-all... well, nothing is that.

By the way, just as a mental exercise, for the everything-sounds-the-same crowd, you could try saying that everything /could/ sound the same if simple transparency was /everybody's/ design criteria. But it isn't, and never will be.

The actual criterion is anything from house sound to broken!

Amazon has them for not much more.

What really bites is how the seller said that these were a collaborative limited edition, similar to the HD650, and that they're selling it for much less than the HD650 MSRP here. What they neglected to mention is that the HD6XX only goes for $199 new.

        This is just disappointing.

Be very careful with buying a used instrument from random people. There are a lot of really crappy used instruments that people try to sell, and these instruments are either junk from the moment they are made or need lots of professional work (and hundreds of dollars) to not be junk because they have been neglected for such a long time.

You live in a very humid part of the world. You want to buy from someone who is aware of how important that is to wood instrument care. Ask if the case has a hygrometer, that might help sort the musicians from the wet noodles...
