I never understood why anyone would spend one second on LinkedIn beyond the time they needed to make/update their profile. If they’re a recruiter that’s a different story.
I'm with @Merrick on this one, LinkedIn is kinda just like a place to post resumes almost. I save all the cringe for Facebook. I dunno *how* turning into off-brand FB is supposed to help a site for "professionals" because last I checked FB is exactly what gets loads of people in trouble at work.
And huh, I thought it was just my ageing laptop having issues with Firefox. Weird.
I use Firefox with about three extensions (HTTPS everywhere, an ad blocker, and a cookie destroyer) and several settings tweaked. It’s lightweight, fast, and reasonably hardened.
Brave is Chromium underneath too, and does pretty well with privacy. I use Iridium, for which they've taken out all the Google phone-home stuff. But Brave on my phone, and sometimes my Mac.
A year or two ago, Linkedin mailed me to say that I would not receive anything from them until I updated my profile.
Sadly, they were lying.
I should delete the account. But everytime I think of it I get that "what if some person I worked with in 1998 actually wants to contact me?" and I don't. An nobody useful ever does contact me.
