What l always hated was when the thing would eat a rented tape. They would charge for a new copy.

This is all bringing back a wave of nostalgia for a medium I haven't really used in well over a decade. Damn I'm remembering how thoroughly I wore out old VHS and Betamax tapes with cartoon films :))

I loved my limited experience with VCRS. I would always share my tapes with friends it was awesome.

I have a box full of VHS tapes somewhere. I have a player somewhere. I wonder if its moving parts still move...

Hope you find old gems in that box! I'm actually curious where my family's stash ended up...

And yes, that's part of the beauty of physical media (that isn't extremely sensitive to fingerprints!) haha. Obvious nostalgia filter in play, but I'm unapologetic :P
