I'm sticking with foobar2000 because I'm set in my ways. I DO begrudgingly admit that I may have heard a pleasing difference with JRMC and A+, but I'm too cheap for those and the differences weren't *massive*. I just use YT Music for streaming my silly pop rock songs.

Windows Media Player. Played around with about 5 alternatives and felt like it was giving me the best balance and imaging. Will stick with it until I pick up a dedicated streamer.

Still use Jriver, I just haven't updated in a long time as the update model is indeed annoying.

jriver 26, no issues for years, why update? Remember there are folk that fork out $800 for lifetime Roon and it sounds ....er not quite as good , flame suit on

Chucked MS out of its own windows about 15 years ago and never looked back. But it was foobar, and would be again if I had to. Wanted the simplest: it fitted the bill.

@Thad E Ginathom not to mention you can customise it quite extensively. I have a fallback way of setting up the visualisation that I rather like and have been sticking with for nearly a decade at this point.
