This is crazy effin good. I never really got into this album when younger, but this is Steely at it's jazziest. And there is something about the punch of the drums.

And another great Jeff Beck video. Thanks for filling in Mr. Page. Gotta love the Peter Gunn theme.

Here's one I came across on Facebook. The best things I get from Facebook are usually music...

"(Who Ate The) Layer Cake" by Stanton Moore Trio

Inspired by @bixby I'll share a solo inspired by Jeff beck.

Matteo Mancuso is a helluva guitarist, if you haven't heard of him I think you will...

I was not familiar with this guy until a few weeks ago but I love this single Words, by Storefront Church (w/ Phoebe Bridgers). Starts out pleasantly enough if not a bit cliched but builds to something very nice.

A throwback to late 90’s/early 00’s Texas regional and Austin music scene. Indie rock from Schatzi - Death of the Alphabet from the album of the same title. They were a great band live

Today I am further procrastinating my grad work with reminiscing. Here’s another band I saw a couple of times on the Texas music scene back in the late 90s and early 00’s. They are not so regional anymore. Maybe a bit of a polarizing band but shit they put on a hell of a live show.

Along with The BeaTles, Steely Dan is my favourite group (duo in their case). They’re also my son’s favourite band/ duo since he was 14. In 2009 my son turned 18 he asked if we could go to Chicago to see SD for his BD. I looked at my wife and said “yeah, right” & she answered “why not ?” We lived in Ottawa, ON (my native city) at the time. So drove from Ottawa, ON, Canada to Chicago in two days. The Dan were playing at the Iconic Chicago Theatre for a full week. Each night was an album themed gig. We were lucky, we hit Aja and Larry Carlton was playing that night. Along w/ McCartney which I saw in 2013, 5 rows from the front of the stage, SD is the other of the two best concerts I’ve ever been to. The best part was being with my son and sharing this great moment and concert of music which help create a special bond between us. Like The BeaTles, it’s hard to find a bad song in their respective catalog. Two against nature is an absolute gem and proved just how proficient Fagen and Becker were as a team. After a 20 year hiatus , they make that album and win the Grammy for best album.

New one from Newfoundland band The Burning Hell. Funny video, shows the importance of having the right tubes.

After a few days of mostly sleep and silence, this is very welcome.

Daft Punk's best album in some aspects. Sometimes music can be like a good novel. "Discovery" is unique.
