Interesting album, yet seems quite compressed to my ears on the louder tracks.

Guitar, soft mallet drums, electronic manipulations, atmospheric improvisation from Steve Gunn, Bill Nace, and John Truscinski. From the forthcoming album Glass Band. Bill Nace appears to have exerted a thoughtful, meditative influence on the group. So far, I like the preview tracks much more than previous albums from the Gunn Truscinski Duo.

Going through high school trip hop/acid jazz/down tempo favorites, this one holds up pretty well.

Studio version finally released, but ya gotta wait until mid Sept to stream on Quboz (guessing for other services as well?). Banger.

From Gia Margaret's new album Romantic Piano. The album is mostly pleasant instrumental piano sketches, sometimes with guitar, synth, or wind instrument acompaniament.

Also, new single from Resavoir "Inside Minds" on International Anthem, I just try whatever they put out.

Think I found this down a Mariah/Yasuaki Shimizu rabbit hole, pretty great.

About the rap/hiphop genre: I only like a handful of rappers due to the overwhelming majority sounding monotone, despite being excellent in other areas.

This guy in the first couplet just nails that and the musicality for me.

This is interesting - some of the melodies are reminiscent of Element of Light period Robyn Hitchcock, but the instrumentation is much more varied.

It's not the right season, but if you haven't heard this...Satch and Stu Hamm in full groove/improv mode. Absolutely sick stuff. Goes off the rails at around 1:45 (in a great way)

Some of the best guitar work on early Prog if you ask me. Backed up by that organ you get the shivers. So many artists have been dying lately. Early Journey was epic...

Shit, man.. this came out of nowhere. Somehow I got to listening to this singer-songwriter album from Avi Kaplan. He used to be in Pentatonix, a group I’ve always considered to be kind of a novelty act TBH. Anyway, this is his debut from last year and I don’t know how this didn’t get more buzz because it is the shit (so far). Pitchfork missed this one. It’s really so good.
