Lot of life events occurring simultaneously tends to skew one's perception. Happened to me at 40 and again at 70. But it passes, life goes on and the adventure continues.
Appreciate this type of input from people with a bit of more experience than me. I feel like i have still so much to do in life and, as such, that's what i am going to focus on. Thanks everyone.
Robert Altman, one of the most acclaimed American directors of all time, was 45 when his breakthrough film M*A*S*H* was released. He went on to make 31 more films. 40 ain't nothing but a number, my friend.
When I was forty, I started learning some music stuff. Joined a class with kids, Played music with kids. Had a lot of fun being a kid.
Met one of the 11-yr-olds I used to work with a couple of weeks back: he's a married doctor now. We still share the same sense of humour.
PS. 40 is barely middle-aged. Heck, I'm going to be 70 in less than 2 weeks. I do feel this one a bit
Don't let the very, very recent high emotional point in your life make the birthday seem like a thud. Instead think of it as a milepost to measure all that's ahead for both you and your daughter.
