Nothing helps a raining day off like some Ghost.
Couldnt decide if I wanted to listen to an Iced Earth or Blind Guardian album. Seemed like a great solution.
Was just about to pick up a few of the SRX pressings. What did they say about the issues you had with the Silver LP?
Might've answered my own question (scroll to bottom), but this all seems maybe a bit curious to me: https://www.musicmattersjazz.com/H-Silver-Song-For-My-Father-Blue-Note-Vinyl-p/33bst-84185.htm
Yeah the Horace silver has some weird distortion, I thought it was a pressing defect but Ron says it's in the tapes. The other srx titles don't have that issue, fwiw.
Good to know. And weird. I've got an early BN pressing of SFMF that I'm now keen to get back to.
Yeah for sure. That, or the earlier MM 45 doesn't have that issue as far as I can tell.
Yeah, that's what I'm confused about. Why wouldn't it be audible in the previous MM edition?
This is all according to Ron. But apparently the SRX vinyl is more revealing/transparent than what they used before... Can't confirm or deny that haha. Interestingly, SRX is so transparent that if you hold it up to a light you can see through it. The mofi one step boxes seem to be using a similar vinyl formula (Evans portrait is similarly transparent, physically and uh sonically)
Proper album to listen on your deck. Cardinal Copia would be so proud!
Funny, when I first saw that, I was thinking of the Uriah Heep album I had back in high school. Didn't think the cover was the same...and I was RIGHT!!!
Retiree's Retro Monday:
And just after I took the pic - Squeakycleanvinyl Mk-III RCM was delivered

Guitar distortion 1960 style:
You, my good sir, jus nailed it. This brings back a lot of memories. And good ones, Desperado related.
