In the 90s I primarily used trackball and I feel like I might go back to it because of some ergonomic issues

Gaming of course is still mouse based

I came here to say this is dumb as I had no context for the status. As I hover over the comment button, "you have a new conversation".

        *reads it*

        ... oh.

Trying to read up on DIY efforts for budget mini PC and eGPU builds. Can someone here point me to websites/communities that are informative?

How obsessed are you with getting High+ graphics settings, what res will you be gaming at? This is the build I ultimately went with (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LbnYYg) plus a roughly decade-old monitor while I save up, have no qualms at all for 1080p save for when running *new* AAA games on High/Ultra.

The tower is actually still a bit unwieldy for me but the fact that the components have room to breathe makes up for that in a big way. From what I gather you really need to sink funds into good-to-decent cooling for a proper compact. Custom loop perhaps? ;)

I'm looking at building a Nouvolo steck or a Loque mini-itx myself.

That or add an eGPU to my Intel Mac Mini

I don’t collect vinyl nor can I afford to right now, but have since seeing the design been totally sold to the idea that tinkering with analog audio is something I want to when I can down the line.

Notwithstanding the vinyl "revival," I believe its demise is inevitable. But I am sure that many said the same of vacuum tubes 50-60 years ago. Having dealt with the foibles of both, I have moved on. Happily so, notwithstanding the nostalgia component.

Grabbed a pair of second hand Pioneer Se-4. Really cool attachment design, but pads are uncomfortable and are superglued onto cups.

With a bit of power the drivers can sound very good. Indeed, too bad about the ear pads.

There's a layer of haze on every track and when I try to power it with an adapter, it hums like crazy. On the other hand, listening to it makes me feel like I'm finally getting the speaker hype.

I think your question deserves a full post, so let me do that when I have a bit more free time.

The gist of it is that anyone can phone in a piece of work, and all the reviews of the film I found are doing this. It’s not really an English vs other languages thing. I assume it’s because the film is not meant to be a simple, fully closed story like many of Shinkai’s other films.

Just to be clear, I didn't mean it in the sense of different receptions being a matter of English language v others, but of aesthetic norms between cultures. I've loved anime from basically age 5 onwards, so I'm kinda biased, but growing up in a cultural gumbo like I have can understand why something not having a "neat" ending might discomfit certain audiences but not others. Sorry if I was unclear, haha.

I also happen to agree that a lot of reviews of films I've seen online seem to follow that same general trend of pandering to people who want talking points spoonfed to them, i.e. pointing out the obvious. I personally don't appreciate it, but can see why it's caught on; it's easier to produce and easier to consume— junk food. I happen to like chips, but time and place for them.
