(Just to be clear, I actually did really like some of what the pre-i RS1 did, and it was less fatiguing that most modern ones, but the value proposition for higher-end Grados makes them so easy to laugh at)
I'd like to see modding threads come back full-force. Even if the mods are completely experimental and not entirely solidified - the data can always be useful depending on what one's trying to do. Hasn't been as much talk of this kind of stuff lately around here. I'd be more likely to contribute to (and read) this type of discussion than some other topics, personally.
There’s also more gear available now than even a few years ago. I’m always hearing about a new headphone or IEM. Time to put that SBAF savings to use. (I do prefer the more selective approach)
What kind of a percentage increase are we looking for? Would a social media blitz (hey, read this review kinda shit) on the right Facebook group or twitter by enough people be helpful, or just a drop in the bucket?
If it's stupid marketing campaigns then that falls exactly in my wheelhouse. SBAF has a distinct identity so branding won't be an issue, only problem is the site is largely known for courting controversy in evaluations of current FotM and (ahem) Schiill-ing. Just need to keep an eye out for whatever's being hyped and be fair when tearing it apart.
Plus we need 48MP photos of purr1n's cat's poo placed strategically on top of gear. Image has to "pop" otherwise it won't grab attention. I propose a cross-branding with potato parcels, send em to manufacturers who sell dumb stuff with a stern warning to do better otherwise the next "p" parcel might not be potatoes.
A simple thing to start with would be a bi-weekly or monthly review of some new piece of audio-gear, brutally honest in video format. Think of I.F. in the Tyll-era. Even as a noob I would watch those old I.F. reviews because Tyll combined science and his own biases to really explain what made something work for him (or not for that matter!). Adds a slightly edu-tainment edge to our silly place.
