Someone bought the contents of an entire meat case, then complained they were worried for their personal safety. OMG. If any of that food goes to waste those people should be held criminally accountable.
@ultrabike "We are morons" - and this is just the beginning. You will be thinking this over and over again every frikken' day. Situation here is fairly stable, so I'm thinking of turning off my main news feeds for a week, reading the dumbassery going around in my area has been too rage-inducing. Being cooped up at home, this is an unhealthy mix.
@JustAnotherRando music and funny vids on YouTube. And catching up on books and with friends online. Makes for a nice break from reality, but I'm well aware I'm privileged for being able to disconnect from the real world.
Only downside is half my main rig is missing, heh. First world problems indeed.
@atomicbob over the last three years we went from having a couple cases in hand to having 7-8 at a minimum. I'm thinking of converting the back half of our storage room in the basement to a cellar.
Seems like there are a lot of options to get stuff around here if you don’t go to the main grocery stores at 3pm. If you go early they have a lot of stuff because they restock every night. Saltgrass Steakhouse have turned themselves into a grocery market selling all kinds of raw meats, seafood, dairy, eggs, etc..; the local dairies sell retail, Fuddruckers has meat and bread. Hoarders still suck though.
@zerodeefex : once you have a temperature stable cellar you will enjoy aging wines further while cycling through. Many good reds benefit from an additional 5 to 15 years. Just pulled a 2013 Cab dominant Bookwalter and it was a palatial delight.
@atomicbob I have a large thermoelectric cooler that holds a good 4 cases. Have a lot of 5-10 year old lynmar in there that is f'ing amazing. I guess the wife is getting a cellar later this year.
