Correcting an issue with his hip socket that sometimes happens with adolescent boys. Currently he is not allowed to walk on it so it’s good that he’s getting wuickly. This stuff gets my wife so wound up despite being a physician for 17 years.
May it all go smoothly, and with a full recovery. Remember to breathe. His youth oughtta help him heal up much faster. And if your wife were totally relaxed about this, now, that would be worrisome. As my godmother would tell it, "You may got yourself a lot of friends. But you only got one Momma."
It always seems to be a few whits scarier when it happens to someone so close. Either way hope for all the best with y'all, B. Drinks on me the next time you're around after this mess is over!
Wishing your kid well. Surgery is wonderful, and he'll soon be better. Or... well, it takes as long as it takes, how long do they say for the healing afterwards? Anyway, it's going to be worth it.
Tell your wife to relax because her tension isn't helping him. She should know that already :)
@Lyander, yes: it's more scary when happening to someone close than it is when happening to oneself!
Being a known issue with that age of that component, the techs will be familiar with the fix and after a brief burn-in he'll be back performing to specification in no time - hip things seem to heal quick, even on old folks. My best to you all.
Thanks for the kind wishes, everyone. I’m not all that anxious myself. Mostly worried about picking up a secondary infection in the hospital. Should be all ok.
@Lyander Not really looking good for ever hanging out again. My brother in law is working back in D.C. now and so I’m thinking chances of coming back are low but you never know. I’d love to at some point!
