Life is a journey not a destination, get on your feet and be responsible and accountable. No one has it easy, overcoming the challenge will make you strong. Don't be a lemon.
I'm not much older than you, but you're young dude. Eventually giving up and doing... nothing does get boring if you stick around long enough through it, and even if you start at something completely new now, there's a chance you might eventually not suck completely. Speaking from experience.
And for the record, while some might opine that you're just seeking attention (I edited this from something a bit more rude) right now, I'm just gonna say that your making this status post likely means you're willing to have a conversation about it. That takes cojones and some degree of self-awareness. That's a good thing.
Takes a hell of a lot of privilege simply to be able to decide not to work. One missed check and I'm literally homeless (thank you student loan debt). For many of us young folks (and many older folks too), it's quite literally work or die.
If you decide not to work indefinitely, at least find a way to benefit your community. People bust their asses so that the privileged few can live free from the shackles of wage slavery. Don't let their labor go to waste by giving back nothing.
... Yeah you know things are pretty shit when you go full Madoka Magica.
I'm not a licensed therapist (... yet) and honestly know jack shit about you apart from your epic intro post. That said, I know enough about people to say retiring at that age does no one any favours. Even Jaden Smith tried acting to keep from dying of boredom
I'm gonna get off my soapbox now, but before that wanna say that if you need to take a break then yeah, go for it, but life around you doesn't stop when you do and that even if you're happy now there's no guarantee you will be years down the line.
You don't always need a fire lit under your ass to remember to stand up.
Mate, you’re either depressed or your parents made life far too easy on you. Either way, seek therapy. You will not remain happy this way, and your parents won’t be around forever.
On the other hand it might just be troll time in hamster town.
Just don't turn evil. I have / had two friends like you. One is chill and recognizes that he is a loser, but he does not care - he's in his 50s now. The other turned evil.
I would love to have the type of family wealth that would allow that, but I'm not going to blame or shame you for taking advantage of it. Most work sucks, and people wouldn't do it unless they needed to in order to live. Just pay your taxes, don't complain, and realize how lucky you are.
