That website kept all the other audio forums sane when Tyll was doing the work. It was that good.

Rafe gone? Thank god for that. But the whole thing gone? Even though I personally may never buy another pair of headphones, Tyll's content as an international treasure. Should be protected by UN as a Heritage Site!

@La Cenric - that's a great idea, I'd chip in to a crowdfunding effort to buy innerfidelity. We could register innercrinaclefidelity domain name!

They could have just left Tyll's content up and continued collecting ad revenue ... (were there ads?)

Yes there were ads last I checked and not an insignificant number of them as far as I could tell. Of course the number of visits I gave em in the time since the turnover is pretty negligible, and I was just checking out old stuff anyway.

With any luck stereophile will incorporate Tyll's content into its website; there's a '"Retired Columns and Blogs" section on the website.

A while ago someone here had the forethought to make a zip of Tyll's measurements. It's still available, at least I still have the file somewhere. Also noted on the Stereophile banner of companies at the bottom of the page IF isn't there.

I have AllGraphs.pdf saved too

videos seem to present on Youtube. Perhaps someone had better archive those.

Fun fact - the IF measurement system is now with Dekoni. I don't think they're eager to sell it back, but last I checked (had a job offer from them recently that I turned down) they were having a hard time finding someone to operate it so maybe there's hope it could be put to good use once again.

It always seemed weird that Dekoni ended up getting the IF measurement rig. They had the graph of their headphone with that measurement rig but that was the only thing I saw from them.

if Stereophile is willing to sell the site and assets to Crin, and then if Dekoni sells the measurement rig. It would be like getting the band back together.

Audiostream, the other Rafe run site, also redirecting to Stereophile. Neither are listed under Stereophile’s “Other sites”.

SBAF is my last remaining connection to the world of audio (and I keep it because the people are so interesting: I'm too deaf for the audio) so I wasn't aware, but is there a known story to Rafe's departure? He's nothing less than a vandal, and I am not above laughing at his undoing.
