I'm speaking from anything even close to personal experience, but while solid shit (the kind that has some semblance of [structural] integrity) is relatively easy to clean up, diarrhea (the kind of shit that keeps going and going and going and going and...) really sinks deep and gets into all sorts of hard-to-reach spots. Hell, some instances I've seen the feces is so corrosive as to get under your skin and fester!

... Okay, used up my daily allocation of cleverness and brain power for today. It's 6AM and I haven't had a wink of sleep, GDI. Curse insomnia.

 

In the end, it all comes off. Really. Just, sometimes it takes more than one shower. In that situation, the secret is to learn to walk away. See a pool of shit? don't jump in.

I'm not tough. I'm a wimp, but I work on keeping my skin non-stick. Of course, some days I forget...

It's 4.45am here, me neither. But I'm not an insomniac, I just keep weird hours.

I was a late comer, but yes, I had my problems with the guy. My guess is if he had known me better, he might have been able to stick better needles that might have hurt a bit, but, as he didn't, all he could do was flail around spraying shit. Which I washed off.

I've known worse, much worse. But then, I'm not walking into a place like 4chan and screaming that I can handle it... because I almost certainly couldn't.

 

I'm sorry solderdude moved on. I understand, but it's too bad.

Ian/rabbit seems like he's got some weird issues. How emotionally strangled does he have to be to clumsily flop his passive-aggressive willie around like that? Calling us dorks is like throwing brer rabbit in the briar patch.

I yelled at/with Anaxilus as much as anyone and there's no hard feelings at all. I feel like he suffered/suffers and I hope he's okay.

 

Anaxilus sounds like a scary dude. What happened to him?

 

Before DIYAH there was RG (Rock Grotto) and RG was fun and informative. I used to love that place. At one point the moderation style changed and Pinky appointed Dale Thorn to moderate/run the forum (that is not a joke!). Some RG veterans left. At one point they must have thought "hey we can set up our own forum and have fun again." That is what they did and yes Changstar had issues but more was happening.

Anaxilus' verbal diarrhoea had its effect on some people. That was a fact.

A lot has happened and the old RG forum is gone. The members who made that place fun and informative left and started DIYAH.

I wish them the best, that is all I can do.

Yeah. Basically Anax did not like the new direction of SBAF, so he refused to join this site basically.

I sometimes miss his blunt impressions, but it is unfortunately still better to not have him. There are other sites like 4chan that would tolerate or even encourage such behaviors though.

 

I think his endless praise of the HD800 as being god's gift to us mere mortals grew a bit tiresome. Every review appeared to be 'Yeah it's this, but it's not an HD800'.

 

It’s weird how some people totally flop on certain forums but thrive on others. I know a couple people that only made it 4-5 posts here but pushing +2000 somewhere else.

 

You just clearly haven't seen the light yet. You have yet to unlock the special sauce mods delivered to you by the one who died for our sins.

I feel the endless HD650 shilling way more annoying. At least the HD800 has potential.


Edit: Okay, I know that was bad, but I do feel using the HD650 as a reference makes new phones like the Utopia look better than they are. I get that the stock HD800 is really bad in some ways, but it's also clearly better than the HD650 in terms of technicalities. Flaws would stand out more compared to the HD800.
But then again I also have my HD800 at a point where I prefer its tonality, especially the upper mids and lower treble to anything on the headphone and in-ear market.
Stock HD800 is plain unlistenable.

 

$300... still the most linear in the mids to upper mids out of anything on the market... sort of shills itself.

 

I'm sure a shift in attention from HD800 to HD650 was probably not the intended goal of the CS-SBAF transition.

What I remember about Anaxilus was that he had no sense of restraint when it came to anything political, and any discussion of would often turn ugly fast. Politics discussion is the weakness of many forums, and Anax was the belligerent dick of the pirate ship.

 

This incorrect usage of the word "shilling" continues to bother me.

Yeesh, I don't read deeply enough into anything here or elsewhere to pick up on the drama llamas. If anything, I more frequently see other places complaining about here more than the other way.
