I mean listening back to back from normal to sinc-M, NS9, its such a difference, esp the blackground I complained about, along with the slight homogenization is taken away. Better dynamics as well.

I’m also using sinc-mx and LNS15 with 4x max oversampling. I based my config on GoldenSound’s recommendations for the Holo Spring. I’ll have to try your recs as well.

There are grade A peak Expanse moments in S6 (OMG, the Liang Walker/Drummer interaction, for example), but overall it's making me nervous that it'll be a disappointing end to an amazing show.

@Cellist88 they're single dynamic drivers so their impedance profile is almost certainly (almost) dead flat.

That's what i thought too since its not a BA iem, but it just sounds so different from the iphone dongle vs the Note 9, tonal balance wise. Iphone tonality also is thicker than the phonitor, which has output impedance of .18.

Call me deaf but I actually don't think IEMs are particularly worse than headphones when it comes to presenting headstage. Could just be my pinnae being weird but while nothing is quite like speakers, there are some IEMs from the like of CA, Final, or even FitEar that don't fall on their faces in the presence of headphones, even the HD800 and variants.

Yeah IEMs are scam. People only use them for their portability and isolation.

Try the Monoprice M350 Planar. Cheap, flimsy build, but pleasantly neutral and detailed with top octave air galore:

Or maybe I should say empire was as I remembered it, but return held up better than I remembered. The cuddly bears didn't bother me quite as much, most of the main cast had obviously gotten acting coaches, etc

I can't agree with that. She just sounds like a mix of D'angelo, Whitney Houston, and talking singing like Florence + the Machine. She literally sings like 10 pitches per song, while just talking. There is no development, and literally stays the same from beginning to end. If you take the lyrics out, literally trash tier music for me. Reminds me of Norah Jones when she sang Tragedy.

That's exactly the point: her choices here are weird AF, bro, especially given her past output. I can appreciate how she pushed herself somewhere different. It's amazing how difficult it is for humans to choose change and I applaud it, even if the results aren't my cup of tea.

Just finished Adele-30. My disdain for the album started with the shards of glass flying off the massed strings in the 1st track, the annoying gimmicks and then the harsh squawking background vocals. At least the 2nd half was a bit easier to take, but not enough for a repeat play.

I made the switch about six months ago. I still look for settings within apps instead of in the settings app. Also iOS spellcheck and keyboard suck. But overall not that different.

I was an android user for 8 years. Primarily Nexus phones and then a OnePlus in the end. Switch 3 months ago to iPhone 12. Learning a new UI took a few weeks to find everything I wanted to use, but it’s largely the same thing, with a new skin. Honestly didn’t even notice notifications were different. Biggest lose for me was Google Assistant, but I gained in a few areas as well.

@jnak you can use third party keyboards on the iPhone. I felt I always had to on Android because I couldn't stand the stock keyboard but never had that issue with iPhone.

@Cellist88 I would say the pro offerings are not worth the added cost TBH. We have two tech salaries and I still feel like phones are overpriced with the regular pixel 6 being a solid offering for the price.

Did you play with the Pixel with day 1 software? I can say that, having been in Android for many years, the experience on day 1 is always significantly better than pre-launch.

I'll see on Friday with the actual unit but the demo unit ran fine and smoothly at the store. The regular pixel 6 is amazing for the price. I'm just bummed that Google as a software company hasn't fully optimized to the new hardware. I thought the addition of new camera hardware, tensor would make a bigger diff, but seems everything is an updated port of old software. Has a lot of potential but not realized rigjt now

I don't go crazy with a phone but if I'm gonna spend 1k, I want to use it for 4-5 years like my old Samsung. I root for team pixel but they don't have a good track record, and Apple purposefully holding back features just to sell phones the next year is snakish. My note 9 has every feature I'm happy with and the only company willing to go that route is Sony , but they want to charge an arm and a leg.

I'm pretty sure Dolby atmos? I mean tickets were like 24 dollars each, though I don't know if that's just standard now. The only thing that has be coming back is watching Blade Runner 2049 in Dolby Atmos and that was just.....ridiculous....haven't experienced anything as good since.

One things that really affects the soundqaulity in theaters are where you sit. You sit in the first 3rd it will be pretty bright. Dolby Atmos really worked well inside the cars. Image on other hand seems subpar. Looked like SS instead of HDR. Highlight blown out, contrast off...might just been the theatre I visited.

People fall in one of these three categories: What a expensive string! vs What a expensive converter! vs Nothing comes cheap..

At least it's not the cost of a LiM per string...
