        @BenjaminBore, briliant: lol!

        @Elmer Danilovich, first get the speakers and listen to them. Just enjoy. Do not do this with the premise that there must be something wrong with your room that you have to correct!

        @Thad E Ginathom ...I've had these speakers for about a year now, just some JBL 305p MKii's on a pair ProJax 40 Isolation Kits in a smaller space with EQ,

        With a larger room I'd like them a foot off the wall but with treatment, @PTS I think your suggestion is where I'll wind up if I don't DIY it myself. Eventually I'll get a set of 705s or 708s, but till then I'd like to enjoy the task of room treatment

        I hear what you describe, say switching between HD580 and the CX, when watching video with a lot of dialog. However, when playing music I prefer the dynamic headphone. The CX loses something critical for me, which is the dynamic flow of the music.

        Honestly I'm so blessed to have a friend who sings, and sings well! It kinda sucks tho, after hanging out with her over a few months there's a handful of popular music I can't quite enjoy as much after hearing a living breathing... soul sing it!

        How? Umm I paid for it... 70/80 hour works weeks pile up over a year that and I was shocked at how quickly my Mid Fi stuff sold soo before you know it BAM a lot of end game magic was very obtainable

        Haven't bought the headphone yet but it's very tempting and within reach,

        For e-stat advise, the best place would be www.head-case.org, which is the home of all e-stat aficionados, including Spritzer.

        The results of my aforementioned experiment is first hand experience in that "prototypes" are fickle. Sometimes AMAZING other times... not so much and frankly unwavering consistency is just as important as sound quality

        The DVD is also way better than the CDs, although it's pretty rare. Picked mine up on eBay about 10 years ago. Has 4 diff audio tracks; lossy DD 5.1, PCM stereo, and lossy stereo of separate band/orchestra.

        It's a cheap meter. My house is small and with a very compact layout. HVAC and return are all setup in such a way to be loud as hell when it comes on.

        The old RS 3300099 is reliable to 30 dBA. I have several here and checked them all against the B&K 4231 and cross calibration at various SPL with ACO 7046 using pink noise through a Genelec 8030 at 25 cm. edit: at standard room temp only - accuracy reduced at other temperatures.

        I have a Check Mate CM 140 that I mounted to measure my ambient figure, I will admit the fridge is sorta loud. Enough that I cut it off to shoot videos, can't do that for listening everyday tho

        But I can get a consistent 39.4 - 39.8 reading in the middle of my office at night. 41.3-42 dBa during the day. [Also I rent]
