I think I'd rather watch the Grammys again instead of the SOTU.

As far as the Grammys. Just get Netflix and watch "The Punisher".

I have a pair of modded Denon AHD-2000s. I am curious to see how they measure. Any interest from anyone who has a test rig to measure?

Fleabay buyers are the worst. Buyer won something, but requested cancellation due to his negligence in bidding due to other bid retractors.

I can see that @DigMe. If they were the high bidder again, they should have also received an email. I always watched closely the auctions I was bidding on. I cancelled per request and offered it to the next bidder in line. We'll see if he wants my Rega Turntable.

Yeah, but if he had already moved on before the other guy retracted.. it’s nit a good situation for either party. In a real life auction if you are outbid they’re not gonna come back to you later on and say you weren’t outbid after all. The real dirt bag here is the guy who retracted.

i also owned a photography biz for the past 5 years. Bottom line though I decided to do things that I enjoy and that I view as more of "making a difference" kind of work over the higher salary I could have made in corporate work.

I had a dream last night that I had decided to retire from teaching and was in complete panic mode. I love my job and couldn't figure out for the life of me why I had chosen to give it up.

Suppose that's a good sign regarding my career choices?

2 diff things. Claritin is an allergy antihistamine meant to be taken as a preventative for seasonal allergies over time. The 'D' is a nasal decongestant simply meant to give immediate relief of runny/stopped up nose already caused by seasonal allergies or cold.

In the south we don't have the equipment to deal with icy/snowy roads. It doesn't make sense to invest in snow plows and mountains of salt when snowfall like this happens so infrequently. So yeah...just a little bit will shut this whole town down.

"Subjective impressions are great, really. Without them, what's the point..." This only means I try not to listen to the gear rather listen to the music.

An audio enthusiast with a recording degree. I became an audiophile in college in studying recording to become a mastering engineer. Although I was an intern for Glenn Meadows and also was acquaintances with Ray Kennedy, the stars never quite aligned for me. However I never left pursuing high-end audio.

I grew up in a radio station as my dad was in radio. My first job was a board op at the talk station where I had to use analog reel to reels, carts, cassettes, and DAT's.

And yes, I like to tinker with gear. I am an audiophile on a budget. Working IT Instructional Designer only gets you so much income with two kids around. Have you seen how much day care costs these days? Anyways, there are I guess some gains to some gear that can be tweaked to improve the performance. This is no different than car types changing differentials or beefing up the suspension or engine. Some of us can't afford a BMW, but rather have to take a Civic and beef it up with aftermarket parts.

Tinkering also helps with repairing gear. I have restored some KEF C75 speakers, an Elac Miracord 50H. I have also fixed, soldered, suped up, many other things from crossovers, to cap replacement, to op-amp replacement, etc. I most recently fixed and rebuilt a non-working Dynalo. I took electronics and studio maintenance in college, but I am still learning.

I have also built: guitar tube amps, guitars, and drums. I love DIY.
