Oh man, I don't really like any of the DACs in the cheap DAC loaner. Jun 28, 2018

There's some excellent synergy between the HD600 and the Lyr 3.

There's a lot crammed in the chassis, espeically when you have a multibit dac in there too.

It actually may be brilliant. The DAC gets up to temp faster, but I assume Jason and Mike made sure everything can deal with some heat.

The Blumenstien Oracs remind me of the Theil 3.6s I used to own 20 years ago. This Fostex driver would be great in the 3-way system.

I feel like the Orcas would work well in a modular 3-way.

Yes, adding a subwoofer to the Orcas, as others have suggested, would be the completely wrong approach. The lowest 6 octaves have major issues and you really would really need a mid-bass module that cosses over around 1000hz to have good bass.

Tidal has a few gaps in the libraries. Spotify has a better library for most things Rock, Metal and beyond. I am sticking to Tidal though because the good Metal and Prog I will buy anyway. For rarer R&B, Funk and Soul Tidal is great.

I just want to listen to stuff before I buy it these days. I hate having to go to Youtube to listen to an album because Tidal and Spotify both don't have it.

Look for live versions/recordings. If a band does not suck live they are worth the money. If live versions/recordings are unavailable ask friends. In case of doubt keep your money in your wallet.

They certainly did, they're just voiced so naturally. The K-510 horn is amazing. It made my 3-way Cornscalas sound like the DIY project that they are.

I thought I had gone as far as I could go for now with my Cornscalas because I couldn't fit a bigger horn into my listening space. The K-510 has the dispersion pattern of a much larger horn even though it's small.

The GAIN I MFSL CDs in particular will likely always sound best on Schiit multibit DACs, given that Mike designed the GAIN I system.

Voices can sound down in the mix compared to the other filters but it's almost exactly the same as the vinyl presentation so it has to be right.

That’s great, I’ve the same two Schiit DACs. Having become, shock horror, content with my system I find my self looking for alternatives that can achieve the same thing with a smaller footprint that are simpler and cheaper. These new Soekris’ look promising.
