Puccini's Turandot and Straight No Chaser. Very different styles of musical presentation, but both moved me.

Vali 2 back in the house. Hello, soundstage and 3D sound. Fulla 2 remarkable for $99, but had forgotten how much more can be had for $150.

I've had a Vali 2 on loan for awhile and have been using it with the HD 6xx, dt 880 and HE-400i in a threeway comparison.

I think once there's a Modi Multibit with Gen 5 USB that will be my go-to recommended setup.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. Though this hobby doesn't get the time and money it used to, I'm quite thankful to have SBAF.

So instead of chasing (once again) low/mid fi dacs and amps for the HD650, should I just grab an Andromeda and focus solely on 2 channel?

If things go as planned, the HD650s, as much as I love them, might not get that much use in the future.

If you are listening mostly at work and you don't want to bother others and don't get startled when someone taps you on the shoulder because you can't hear them. IEM's might be a plan. I use my Beyer DT-1350's at work. No bother to others but I can hear others yelling at me. :)

I wear Beyer DT250 at work when I might be interrupted and Campfire Lyra II when I need to really concentrate. I highly recommend an IEM if you wear glasses and/or need to focus.

I don't mind Windows 10, but hate that the only way I know a major update is available is something broken. Like sound this time around.

I hadn't thought of the "best of" compilations angle. Choosing masterings is quite the rabbit hole but the rewards can be enormous.

I like the Bifrost Multibit better due to the correct Schiit treble definition that the Gungnir Multibit and Yggdrasil have. Modi Multibit has that Bifrost Multibit upper bass/lower mid veil throughout the entire audible range.

"In a while" can be a very flexible term.

When do you want to eat dinner? In a while.
What time are you going jogging? In a while.

I believe the best way to truly help people and make positive change in the world is to remove the barriers to people helping themselves. As such, I am a founding partner of a low profit limited liability company (L3C) that helps aspiring entrepreneurs in low income neighborhoods start their businesses as well as redevelop real estate for their use. We are currently working with 6 entrepreneurs in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, with several more lined up for our next cohort. Our first property is currently under redevelopment and will house 3 of our entrepreneurs. A second property that will house the other 3 entrepreneurs should be ours within the next couple months.

Working with the City of Chicago, various community organizations, and a social impact lending institution, we have secured enough grants and loans to start our venture. However, the terms of the loans and grants don’t cover all the purchases we need to make. Things like computers, inventory systems, commercial kitchen equipment, etc. (basically anything that can be removed from the properties) are on us to acquire. As a result, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to make sure our entrepreneurs have all the little things that they need to successfully open and keep open their doors. It is also a great way for the public to get to know our organization and the entrepreneurs that we help.

There is a lot more to the company that makes it unique that can adequately be described in this format, so if you are interested, you can visit our website at egwoode.com to learn a little bit more about the company and our entrepreneurs. Our crowdfunding campaign is here: https://www.bluefundrewards.com/projects/e-g-woode-a-crowdfunding-campaign/

And of course, if you have any questions about the company, the campaign, or about social impact investing in general, please send me a PM and I will be happy to chat with you.
