My specific Modi MB with v2 firmware has the following DC offset measured at a specific point in time:

L ch: +416 uV
R ch: -2.00 mV

Different times the values may vary by several hundred uV.
Other units may vary from these values measured.

Still regret selling mine. Purchased them when they first came out. Loved them. Think I used them with the Hifiman EF5 Amp. God that amp was warmpoo. Lol

Forza Audio fixed the issue I had with the HE-500 stock cable which was too stiff creating considerable neck loading. Taboo mk4 provided the synergy that made these cans come alive for me.

They are only best with the Yerg pads to tame that 8k peak and bring in some lows.

Well, one data point, I haven't had even so much as a common cold since 2019. Yet I have been exposed to plenty of ill people due to my paths of exposure involving medical device research, etc.

Do I trust the covid vaccine. I had three and... covid. I'll admit to seeing the expectations continuously downgraded. But I'll probably get more when they come along.

I got covid as a 70th birthday present. I'm a little bit old.

It wasn't nice, but it wasn't /too/ horrible. Who knows? without the vaccines I may have been gasping my last breath into a ventilator.

I don't know. There isn't a control me living an identical life except for distilled-water-only vaccines!

I am simply amazed by the breadth of all these measurements. I don't understand a lot of it (still; trying to learn), but I can recognize concerted hours of effort when I see it. We are spoiled by the richness of your work.

@Qildail : thank-you. It takes many many hours to make the measurements, vet the data, prepare pre-post data organization and writeup and then execute the posts.

@Jinxy245 & @Wilson : agreed. Cancer is very bad news. My wife (& best friend) is a 20+ year survivor. Chemo & radiation back then were brutal. So in comparison I'm kind of whining.

Fuck cancer. I've lost too many loved ones, including dogs, to this scurge.

@Azimuth hmm can't say i've really noticed that problem, maybe because most of my files are 16bit 44.1kzh? For other stuff like youtube etc i just use pipewire or pulse.

I could not get any Linux distro to output high-res no matter what my settings were. Even even over USB - it would just down convert everything. And I changed a bunch of settings and lines in the code files of Pulse and Alsamixer...could never get it to work.

Did you play with the hw:0,0 stuff? That should be bit-perfect. Even so there are disable resample setting for for asound.conf and if you keep the alsamixer at unity gain it should not touch anything.

@jexby Thank-you for the sentiment. To provide perspective, corporate typically pays me 3K to 4K for similar amounts of work.

Oh, my friend has a 2105 and the HD600 have big bass and sound great out of it...

Was there anything special or is it mostly of historical interest?

It was a detailed technical review of the festival sound and power and how it guided development for generations of sound reinforcement rigs.

HD8xx has a better low frequency leading edge impact for sounds such as kick and upright bass, which I enjoy. But it sounds a bit recessed above 3000 Hz leaving me feeling as if a treble tone control was turned down 3dB.

My HD800 J-mod variant hasn't been getting a lot of love since Voldemort and then BP800 arrived, but it's still a great sounding headphone.

@gixxerwimp Still enjoy my HD800-Jmod immensely but need to have a backup plan if or when they deteriorate for any reason.

Any of these alone might be merely annoying, but together it sounds exhausting. I hope things turn around for you and yours soon.

Issues and problems are resolving. It was overwhelming to have so many occur in rapid succession in a short span of time. Digging out, things are better. Still, my issues pale in comparison to those experiencing madness of war, or fighting chronic illness.
