    In my speaker setup, I replaced a Rega Elex-R with this and a SPL Phonitor 2 (acting as a pre-amp). It's just ridiculous how much better this combination is. It's like I had purchased a pair of new speakers, lol.
    
    Setup:
    Bluesound Node 2i -> Drop Airist R-2R -> SPL combo -> Dynaudio Focus 110
    
    So much more control and dimensionality....with ZERO fatigue. Tests with RAAL's are commencing tomorrow.

    Granted, the Utopia is still mega-overpriced at $4k retail. Undeniably actually a good headphone though, and unlike a LCD-4 the Utopia doesn't exhibit insane unit variation. I prefer my Utopia to JAR 600.

    If there are no prospects for a promotion based on your potentially improved performance, rethink your future there. If management does not appreciate the effort, find a better place to build your career. This is not easy to deduce and reason out of. It depends on you. I left some places on principle.   I'm all ears. Doubtful, unless you're shifting the cost of the reviewed gear to some third party and concealing that third party's identity somehow, but all ears.

    There's of course multiple things that need to be done exactly right for this to work. Special attention must be paid to the actual framework - e.g. what are the device categories, what are the users allowed to review and in what order.

    Yup, there's lot to do, currently working on an API which does most of the heavy lifting. Global/Absolute device scores are updated periodically, which requires a separate number crunching script. Then there's the implementation phase, when I've to design the actual website around it. I suppose I've got something to show by next spring or summer. Damn day job taking all my time and energy!

    I used to own them and didn’t find them shrill/thin (though I always recommend a sub with bookshelf speakers), but I think they have both the “metallic” criticism and the imaging/tonality/detail praise that Clear also get.
