@atomicbob That's what I was thinking too else the MMB2 wouldn't NEED the barrel plug, but given I concede a lot of ignorance I was wondering whether or not I could be overlooking something. Thanks for taking the time to allay a silly fear

Just noticed that the maximum input power is highest on the R50x (1.6W) as opposed to 1W on both the R70xa and the R30x. Curious about the difference in power handling. 470R impedance for the 70xa, 50R on the 50x, and 47R on the 30x besides gradually increasing sensitivity. Looks fun.

I've got the refine loaner. It wants so much power. Didn't try it on an OTL but for low Z amps it wants the juice. On MJ3 it needs an additional 15-20 degrees of turn vs 300 ohm senns

@joch comparing just from memory (I've been using the parterre more lately while I still have both on loan) it definitely extends further up than the TG334 and has less of a subterranean grumble, faster bass. Both have pretty bad sibilance on e.g. Hayley Williams - Simmer, but it's more tolerable on Parterre. Stage is more thrown out on TG I think, Parterre bit more vague in a pleasant way.

@Lyander Don't get me wrong, I love shrimp cooked in the shell, I just remove the meat like I would a lobster tail or crab leg. I know people eat whole shrimp, I'd just never really thought about it before. Probably what sucks most about living here in the middle of the continent is the lack of fresh seafood.

Size-dependent: shrimp tails yes (but I cut the little fins off the back), they're not worth the effort of flaying; prawns and anything bigger, extraction; and with crabs & lobsters, sucking the meat out of each leg segment is fun.

Also got a FiiO BR13 to plug into the TV. Tried it out for a bit as a desktop DAC, no real reason why I'd want to use it there since the same chip in the Magni Unity (ES9018) sounded less painful and more cohesive, but hey it takes LDAC. Can just link phone to play random music.

... is that Steam's recent clarification re game ownership had me rethinking things. I've had games I'd BOUGHT on Google Play just vanish from my library, and while these are pretty cheaply priced things I still hold grudges over things like that. Then again I don't buy nearly enough albums that something like ripping CDs might be a chore to me, it's still fun and novel is all.

Checked their recent album Death by Rock and Roll out and enjoyed a few songs, missed any hints of misogyny or abuse. Haven't heard Hit Me Like a Man but glancing the lyrics it reads more to me as a masochism thing, which precludes consent? It's definitely too much nuance to hold a conversation about over text and I do have friends that are into less vanilla things so my perception is skewed.

Didn't notice I ran into a character limit. Domestic abuse is something purely evil and ought never be condoned, so I can see why those lyrics hurt in that situation and why it could have done harm. I hope that your friend's long moved on and at peace. Hope the guy grew a heart and half a brain too.
