Also would like to offer gratitude to whomever it was that posted about the synth version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue, it's been getting a lot of playtime lately. Classical pieces played on synths is my current guilt-free pleasure:

@Deep Funk I suppose some people just prefer I keep said gun holstered, or at the very least out of sight. Decent company and all that :))

Probably best to keep the Liquid Carbon unplugged for a while given how storms may cause issues with local power. Yikes.

Appreciate it. We'll likely be fine, but adjacent areas may be in a worse way. I just looked up the numbers again and it's estimated sustained winds will be 215kph with gusts of about 265kph. Not the worst in recent memory but still shit

I did see the RTINGS piece on this and tried the same but it still looks far from smooth to my eyes. Maybe it's just unrealistic expectations given what @SoupRKnowva pointed out about high refresh rate panels generally have higher hold times. Tempted to just leave it all at 0 and pretend I don't see anything amiss :))

yeah, different people use different words, RTings specifically refers to telecenic judder as judder, and sample and whole judder as stutter. one is avoidable with proper pulldown, the other is only avoidable on low frame rate sources like movies and tv shows with frame interpolation or impulse display technologies

The acting was, generally, not as good as Hill House and I think people who really love "scary" shows were a bit turned off since this wasn't really that kind of a thing. That said, I had a good time with it. I binged through it pretty quickly.

@Hrodulf the Philippines has a massive Catholic population and a lot of them are pretty... old-fashioned. Jaws dropped like atom bombs when the clip was released, but I'm personally happy. Francis is a bro.

@Skyline point taken about the acting, Dani was inexplicably not as engaging as Eleanor and a few of the interactions were a bit cheese. But definitely liked it.

Honestly I'd say the 10xx series is probably pushing retirement age pretty soon here. I'd save up and hold off on the trigger for as long as you can, and either spring for the 30xx series or find something in the 20xx series at a good discount.

Adding to that (character limits) the other reason is once the lower end 3060 and 3070 come out, it'll probably drive down the price of your 1070/1080 and 2060s some more, giving you more bang for your buck.

Good points on the lower-end 30 cards driving the price down and 10 probably losing grace soon, much obliged :)

You want an omni mic for measurements. Directional mics have different purpose. The Maven is designed to reject room ambience. Think of microphones like camera lenses. They have different goals depending on design.

Convenience or grocery store bought sushi (entire set or tray, not individual pieces) can be thrown in the microwave for 20 or so seconds to warm up the sushi piece just enough to give it that fresh from the chef's hand taste...
