Just now a cymbal started playing at the beginning of a song in the left channel and I thought it was kind of rude of the guy next to me 3 feet over in the coffee shop to be playing music out loud. It felt very much live and not up in my ear which I have noticed a lot with the Kato.

I appreciated the input on speaker brands from everyone in my earlier post. I was also interested in Focal and Morel but they didn’t have 6x9’s that fit my doors. Sounds pretty good so far. I’d love to get a DSP and amp at some point in the future too. Materials quality of the factory speakers was insanely craptastic.

Yeah, right now he uses my Drop Portapro with the mic but I actually have trouble understanding him when we play together and I was wanting to get him something a bit more immersive as well. Another one I was looking at was the open-back Koss GMR 545. It has an extended detachable boom mic that I thought might be better. Anyone tried them?

Yea, I assume the over ear one is the same mic in the porta pro headset. Friend had it on for a call and it sounded pretty good.
Amazon reviews has a video with the mic test.

I just snagged one on amazon for the same price. I went with the matte steel finish - just to avoid fingerprint magnetitis.

I went with the blue. Def wasn’t even considering the mirror steel hope the blue aren’t print magnets.

@DigMe I’m terrible. Was torn between matte and blue. Went w/matte because it arrived 2 days earlier. Lol… tie breaker!

@YMO which is mainly just saving up for the best possible dog hair vacuum.

Hey, thanks for all then suggestions. Currently considering JL Audio, Focal and Kicker. I wasn’t planning on adding an amp and Crutchfield seems to indicate that the Focals I was looking at would benefit more from an amp.

Also, looking at 6x9’s because these are in a front door that can take either 6.5” or 6x9. I usually have it faded to the front because of my kids so I want full range up there. All of Focal’s 6x9’s are too deep for the door so it would have to be 6.5. The JL audio speakers fit. I think Kicker will too.

A set of kicker KS 6x9s will sound great up front if they will fit. I have a pair in the back of my Polara and they sound great.

I remember when a phone call when from 10c to a quarter. Almost doubled in price! The cost of a mailing stamp, the "Forever Stamp", is now 60c. I was in a meeting the other day, and we all guessed wrong at the cost of a stamp. I think the highest someone said was 45c.

JVC Spiral Dots. I find the OG better than the + because the stem is stiffer and doesn't come off the nozzle and stay in my ear. Haven't tried the ++ (stiff stem like OG but soft skirt like +) because $$.
