I had a feeling the top lines would run out of steam. They were playing almost every other shift to get to the finals. Playoff hockey is an entirely different beast than the regular season. Way rougher with fewer penalties

I also thought the slower Florida ice (more heat and humidity) would be a factor as well. Edmonton is known to have a really nice slab of ice and skating on shit ice is like skating up hill. Edmonton looks burnt out

I have analogous experience with Forte I and BH S3X 2w. Let me guess doesn’t sound great? A little more power like 8w makes a big difference IME. PM me, I have some amps you can borrow if you want.

Ive heard LaScalas with 2A3 based monos, 2 or 3 dB more efficient than Forte IVs. Sound was smooth and sexy but still falls apart with a little volume. I'd say 8-10 watts minimum is where you can start to rock it a bit.

I imagine it's simply bots, perhaps they target any site above a certain traffic threshold. Also the higher volume possibly indicates they've figured out how to bypass some anti-spam protection.

A friend of mine got their ribbon headphone. I find it interesting that they're trying to get into these other markets.

It's not actually a ribbon headphone, that's marketing bullshit. It's a planar magnetic headphone with very low impedance. It is a driver with a membrane with traces and bar magnets. It's probably very similar to all their other drivers. Calling it a ribbon headphone because it has similar impedance to ribbon drivers is the stupidest marketing gimmick ive ever heard of. I still ant one though...

Use an XLR to TRS adapter (reverse from regular). Just never use this adapter on any other amp.

@YMO Yes I did. I wanted to try out DNA to see if it was my type of amp, and I love the Starlett so now I know I enjoy the house sound, and I got the cash for it I am upgrading and gonna let another SBAFer get the Starlett once I get the new amp in.

If you like the Clear, very good chance you'll like the Utopia more. Something about the Utopia driver just sounds better than the lower-end Focal drivers, and I don't mean just technicalities. The "metallic timbre" thing is so overstated.

@ChaChaRealSmooth do you seeing yourself using VO or Utopia more. For my library thinking the VO works better, but where the Utopia shines, it really shines no competition.

@dncnexus I'm prone to wild mood swings and random fits of choosing a can, so it probably roughly averages to equal use among all my headphones that I own. That being said, Utopia and Verite are definitely complementary cans.

It's weird, for me it shuffles similar songs and if I skip one song it shifts the genre!. Like WTF?

@nishan99 yeah, I will shuffle, and it decides to play the song at the top of the playlist, and as i click next, it will shuffle through all the songs that are in the window and never any anywhere else. I have 3K+ songs to shuffle and listen to 50 max.

wtf yeah that's so strange, that's super frustrating you had to reboot four times to get it working.. glad to hear everything is working now though

@pure5152 the 4th reboot, the restart wasn't working had to do a physical unplug and replug. Not something I like to do but was unresponsive otherwise.

Figured out I only need those two if I really want to go the minimalist way (which I don't as I still enjoy diversity lol). Anything else I owned can't compete in my use cases.

even though Verite is my least favorite ZMF sonically, they are gorgeous and actually look their price unlike most headphones in the $1k+ range.

Looking to pick up a VC during ZMF November, hopefully with a similarly impressive wood finish as yours.
