fun fact: it's waaaaay better for your psyche to type out an irate tirade forum response and then decide to delete it all before posting because you can surely state your case more succinctly, but with more obscenities.

Then, type it all back out, and determine you obviously need more references and clarification, and drop the obscenities because it sullies your appearance of moral superiority, so back to the drawing board. Repeat ad infinitum, but just don't ever hit that POST button. Works reeel gud.

Why do so many people on ebay and Etsy who sell hundreds of $$$$$ tubes send them in bubble wrap with no label of any kind telling you what tube it is and the details about the plates and getters, etc.? These generic white boxes are cheap, And all they have to do is print out the damn ebay page and you have a full record of all the details, the seller, the price, and all the specifics about what the tube is.

I've relied on screenshots to try to organize my tubes, but it's gotten crazy and I have many tubes I don't know what they are because I didn't keep a record and they just came in bubble wrap.

I'm not even sure what generic means any longer. Just that it doesn't mean what everybody now thinks it means.

There are many good—and very different—recordings of the 2d. If have to pick only one, I'll go with Kubelik's recording with Bavarian Radio on DG. The 5th also stands out. You can't go wrong with Solti's earlier recording with Chicago (the AAD one from 1970) on the London label. Thanks @Thad E Ginathom for recommending Mahler in this context. You're quite right.

Thanks, @Claritas. There are Mahler Moments that send vibrations from the backside to the chest. Especially with speakers on a wooden floor.

That I’m not sure about. But if they have built in scrobbling support, I imagine it would, if you’re using a third part tool to scrobble from tidal yeah I’m not sure.

I ALWAYS buy my digital cables from Aliexpress, it's always five times cheaper than Amazon or local stores with the same quality if not even better. The only downside is the shipping time is not as fast.

@Sqveak of course, I do to. I know some chronically Ill people in Ukraine who cannot leave their homes. Really sad. Luckily they are all ok so far… physically at least.

Maybe the music means more to you than it does to them. I get the feeling some people don't take their own tracks very seriously, they're just trying to capture a vibe and have a fun time. I think that type of expression is still valid, maybe just more on the self indulgence side for the artist than in service to the listener.

There is a lot of stuff that you have to listen to a few times before you can put it into one of those two groups. I am always conscious of the fact that a few of my absolute favourite albums are ones I almost ignored and could have missed out on, but for some reason persevered with.
