I wasn't paying attention when I ordered but for some reason I think shipping estimate was 2-3 days then.

I don't think Schiit does this, but a lot of resellers will print the label and picking ticket shortly after the order is received and stick it in a "to be picked" bin. This is when you'll get a tracking number even it it sits around for a few days and is annoying. Never had that experience with Schiit, thankfully.

True @Vansen. Schiit has always shipped the same day as notification as far as what I've experienced. I ordered some stuff from Herbiesaudiolab.com recently and it sat for a few days before leaving.

I learned this trick back in the early 90's when I worked audio retail. I think one of the company reps mentioned it. It would get so bad without it you'd get a nasty zap every time you touched a volume knob. After application the problem would go away for several weeks. Typical Winter would take 3-4 applications. Made the store smell like a laundry room.

I guess I could also keep my Zerostat around and give it a zap every so often.

I never had this problem with audio gear, but I used to get it with car-door handles! I learned to touch the car with the flat of my hand first, and *not* reach out for the handle with my fingers.

@Claritas dust is just less visible on silver, same amount though. All my other gear is black now so the silver Yggdrasil sticks out like a sore thumb in the rack.

@crazychile The silver knobs (only knobs, not buttons though) on the black cases look ugly.

The black Schiit kind of reminds me of the 90's era Levinson

@crazychile - one of the reasons I wish Schiit used a 12v trigger. Although I think there’s power strips with that kind of option

I've actually considered a different brand of preamp. Something with more dials and switches. I can't see the fine details 20 feet away and I don't expect that Schiit will suddenly revamp the looks of the gear to appease my tastes.

I use a current sensing trigger power strip for my amp and subs that is triggered off my TV. I tried to use the Freya S as the trigger, but even in the lowest setting, it was not enough current draw to throw the switch. Although if the BF2/64 or Freya are not on the correct inputs, there is still no sound.

Went to same friend that got my Fortes. He also bought my Mani 2. Even with a Denon AVR it sounds pretty darn good.

Me too! Some ported speakers are just way too loose in the bass.

I also got a pair of A150s to refoam and play with. These will likely get sold unless my kids want them.

They sound better when you are drunk.

The cabinets were almost perfect and the woofers had already been refoamed. Caps have arrived for the Xover update. One of the stock Seas tweeters have a low impedance reading. I'm going to try a ferrofluid clean and fill but might need to get some new Seas from Madisound.

Not quite the slam and microdetail of the PAPs, but a very similar sound.

You're a lucky dude. Enjoy your badass new speakers! Modded old Klipsch are wonderful to my ears and should last you decades.

The last time I heard original Fortes is when I sold the floor models where I worked around late 1989. The Forte II had been out for a while at that point. I don’t remember any Klipsch from that era having such a smooth and extended top end. And my hearing was a lot better then. So I think the titanium diaphragm upgrade is a must.

A little danish oil and they should look nice. Xover is mounted to back of terminal cup so I have to rip them out to replace the binding posts. I’ll relocate the Xovers to a board and replace the capacitors.

Repairs seem pretty minor. It might be a few weeks until I can pick them up and see.

Last time I was at buffalo wild wings I ordered the hottest wings on the menu, and ate 20 of them (boneless). So good, but that, combined with some drinks, ended up throwing up in the buffalo wild wings bathroom. 10/10 would recommend.

My brother and his wife got power in Iowa City on Thursday. My sister in Ames didn't get power until yesterday. My parents were luckier, power came back Tuesday. I didn't even know about it until my buddy asked if I'd called my parents on Monday.

Yeah there’s been virtually nothing mentioned about it in the national news. The flood of 2008 was a big deal and made news. This is way worse.

Yep, one of the instructors is 62 and looks a really fit 45. I learned there’s some things he doesn’t try to do any more. So I Modify a few things but still get in an extreme workout for me.

My previous personal trainer was a lady shorter than me and she could lift more than me. If I failed she was not afraid to laugh at my attempt. Yeah a short lady got me into weight training...
