f**k measurements. People who manage to do this well are all artisans (and people who just churn out graphs with no context are charlatans).

Really do appreciate the help, thanks! Also, sorry for the trouble. Would be embarrassing if it turned out the headphones were just bollixed, or I was putting consistently uneven pressure on the cups during measurement, haha.

Haha! I'm still very much in B camp I'd say; nothing beats personal experience (provided decent baselines and all that are established) but measurements are excellent for identifying subtler flaws or IDing stuff I might wanna demo.

My favorite fried chicken fast food places in America are the chicken strip places that all have the same dipping sauce Zaxby’s, Raising Cane’s, Layne’s in my college town. Mainly I love that sauce. For regular fried chicken I’ll take Bush’s - a Texas chain.

I did compliment the biscuits! I'd actually go back just to get a couple to snack on, haha. But props to them the place was literally packed near closing, the franchise is new to the country so loads of people just swarming in up to the last minute and keeping them on their toes. Benefit of the doubt for now.

But I will never say anything nice about the gravy they used.

I wonder if they require SN verification to purchase replacement ribbons. If not I'd be tempted to just buy the ribbons at 350, build a jank headband/enclosure, slap some actual pads on there and go down the DIY rabbit hole. OB headphones aren't my thing as someone who can't stand anything with bass rolloff before like 25 hz

Technicalities take a hit, midrange is weirdly coloured unlike the HP-3 where it just sounds recessed, maybe a tad aggressive (not resulting from excess treble which is its own issue). Wouldn't trust these yet IMO since it's stock compensation with channel mismatch through mids, but janky low-mid treble weirdness aside the upper end really is duller than stock.

What was the phrase? Ah right: Do not recommend.

Yup. Cup issues aside a main complaint I had with the X00 was the lack of "body" to vocals, turned out to be a function of lower-mid dips. This actually reminds me a bit of the Fostexes only a bit less *shout* and more "honk" in the mids. Stock 650 pads are still normal to me, so my ears probably aren't dumb :))
