As much as I adore headphones and personal audio (cuz of my living in a fairly cramped Asian neighbourhood etc), nothing beats speakers. Heck, even my phone speakers have given me chills some days. Just a matter of mood and the fact that yeah, while very often more technically competent, personal audio is just much more limited in scope.

Take it all apart, rearrange the room a bit, rebuild it all cable by cable and see if that changes the experience. If nothing else it's a zen exercise and an excuse to tidy up.

This is why I will always have multiple pairs of headphones and for some amps/dacs, multiple tube options. I need variety to maintain an emotional connection. I'm happy I could accomplish this without further gear cycling.

That coupled with brain wave timing especially after the witching hour can be a transformative listening experience.

Great suggestions, thanks. Half tempted still to go with that cheap DIY amp from Ukraine. Still feel stung by getting scammed a few months back tho. Does your credit card back you up on a F&F purchase? Unsure if I want to take the risk.

Do not go cheap , especially a no name diy build for a high voltage stat amp. Unknown reliability and customer service and almost impossible to resell. If you can’t stomach new prices get used Birgir or Soren built amp. They’ll always help as long as the amp hasn’t been modified by a third party and they’ll always be worth close to what you paid .

I also have the zmf suede Ori pads on these. These are great walk around and office headohones. For the price they're pretty great with these tweaks.

Wow. There is actual texture in the bass. The mids, while a touch thin, are more legible. Well done custom cans!

Just back from a nice dog walk with them. They're more "audiophile" in that I am drawn into the nuances of the recording and production, but they might be a little less fun. C Cans provides a couple options. I'll try these out.

You seem to refer to Wuche one right? I also like their Morandi very much. No doubt they make fantastic linear switches. Nonetheless I value fun factor these days. Joyful feedback to finger is sorta addictive. Especially whey they are done right.

Weiss 204 with Plixir Eite BDC LPS vs PS Audio Directsream MK1 signature edition as modded by APS transformers. These DACs more alike than different but Weiss is more brash and bold while PS Audio more refined. Lots of impressions to come.

Have you heard a wandla? It looks pretty neat, though I can't trust any head-fi opinions on it.

What I remember about the M3 I tried was that it was probably one of the least sins of commission in an amp that I've heard before but it wasn't for me in terms of gear synergy.

Also it sounded distinctly DS (and not MB / R-2R) to me, but good DS.

In short, worth a try if you just want something that's just quietly competent and are OK with DS.

How's the bass extension on the utopia and stellaris? I'm starting to think that my pair is broken...

Bass is plentiful and accurate, as good or better than the other pairings I have access to.

Jollibee in the Philippines has gotten much worse over the years, it's sad. Theories are that they're investing more in foreign ventures to try and win them over. The local stuff is a shadow of what it used to be. Basically just breaded bones.

Idk why Jollibee North America removed the tuna pie! Maybe because it’s tuna but easily my favorite item.

@Lyander if you mean they are trying to invest Jollibee North America, they are sucking at it (at least the one near me). Sub-par service and bland food now. Mango Peach Pie, however, always on point - the only consistent good.

Changed pw hopefully it works. However, I did notice that even after changing my pw other devices still stayed logged in for quite a while.

Also a quick google search that I should have done earlier said this was a common error a year or so ago even on several trial accounts...
