I don't really understand what attracts people to closed back planars aside from the old Fostex T's. Most planar diaphragms are dipole - lots of reflections that need eliminating compared to a more directional DD. For me, open planar (HE6) + closed dynamic (Eikon) is the complementary arrangement to beat. EDIT: got confused about "C", thinking this meant CLOSED and not CLASSIC like in the case of LCD-2C. whoops.

Well, there is the LCD-24. Supposedly the engineers want to make it but the higher ups are like naw dawg.

Curious. Last I checked the original pads were just smaller in diameter— Meze made the pads larger to accommodate larger ears, but that's apparently what led to the boomier sound. Piling dampening over the driver might reduce bass on top of attenuating treble a bit. Haven't tried that yet and no spare material to play with now.

I was looking at the Hiby R6, but I'm open to anything. They just seemed to be a successful Indiegogo company that is sticking around. Man, I'm so sick of having to read about shit instead of getting to listen to first. So jelly of the Tokyo/Hong Kong crowd...

Sorry if you've known about this already, but the Hiby R6 has the output impedance of 10 ohms I believe, so it may not pair well with some BA IEMs. Hiby R3 seems interesting though: <1-ohm OI, smaller size, at half a price of R6 but with less juice. Might interest you! Wish I had a chance to try both too, sound like neat little devices.

I get the feeling Craig really wished for a more neutral amp that's cheaper than the Studio. He has been pushing for the feedback version of the Af recently and this probably gives him the way to sell a more delineated amp line especially with the phase out of the ZDS.

#teamdynamic never needed to hide. Bring your PortaPro, HD600 and HD650. They will always be good.

Sadly I don't write enough any more to justify using a fountain pen, but for sure I'm hanging on to my Parker Duofold and Waterman Le Man. Maybe I should look into using them occasionally with an inkwell instead of cartridges.

Fountain pen was a godsend during grad school. There was a lids down/no phone policy in place so had to take 6+ hours of notes by hand every day.

I used fountain pens exclusively during grad school when I had to take notes for 3 hours. Now I carry a cheap ballpoint to hand to co-workers so they don't damage my beautiful #6 gold nib fountain pens.

And @ergopower, there are so many beautiful bottled fountain pen inks. Check out Diamine or Iroshizuko for some astounding colors.
