I don't understand the use of multiple drivers in a can. It's #1 utterly unnecessary and #2 kills one of the advantages of cans over speakers.

Have there been any loaners from ampsandsound? EC and DNA amps are quite popular with veteran members here. Would be nice to get their impressions on ampsandsound esp since its relatively easier to procure.

I like Gungnir A1 if you did not need unbalanced out. I think the DAC chip upgrade is worth it.

I just got a Yggdrasil for my headphone rig so can choose between my Bifrost 2 and Gungnir A1 for my speakers. I unfortunately don’t have a great way to A/B them

I made an extremely small tweak to my modded LCD-X and the one last problem I had with them seemed to go away. Making headphones is such a delicate, intricate process. The tiniest things make such a huge difference and everything needs to be perfect. I don’t know if they’re perfect but they blew me away yesterday.

They’re pretty different. More resolving, more refined treble. They’re super dynamic sounding and resolving while being very neutral (hopefully). I’ll send them to Marv and on loan soon-ish. I’m trying to have custom grillls made but need a metal shop to do that. I may give up.

Good for music. Though the active nature has it’s limits they are very well tuned. I don’t hear a noise issue. Review coming and a loaner tour. :)

I haven’t heard the Mobius but I’m pretty sure talking with Audeze that it’s a different tuning. They are tuned similar to the LCD-X

About the same ballpark as going from a Gungnir to Yggdrasil to me. Except WL and Pavane L3 were a little more resolving than Yggdrasil in their particular ballpark.

I don’t feel like anything is lacking but resolution. I love the tone of the Gungnir A1. But I’ve got some very resolving transducers now and just feel like they could convey more information which would be thrilling.

Wait for the Gungnir upgrade.

I agree with @Cellist88...it is as good as a $99 SS amp can be. Amazing performance for how small.

I’ve heard solid state amps with better technicalities but I’ve never heard a solid state amp with such perfect tonality. And it’s technicalities are not far behind. I think people are just lost in perceived clarity and don’t hear how greet this amp is.

Same reason why most people think SS amps are more resolving, the fast and etched sound is good at faking texture.

For IEMs I think it's the single driver things that would be the hope, single dynamics or orthos.

Why is it discontinued? And does MJ1 sound better than 2-3?

MJ2 was recently discontinued due to parts shortages. Debate still ongoing between MJ1 and MJ2. I do know there had to be some compromises and workarounds to incorporate tubes into MJ2.

Bad move adding tubes. An Uber Magni 3+ would be such a great amp.
