20 questions: is it a dongle or a DAP?

I finally enabled two factor authentication on my account now. Using KeepassX on Desktop and KeePassium on my iOS devices for password management. Both support adding OTPs (one time passwords, like Google Authenticator) to password entries, no extra app required.

Not sure if that’s possible, but maybe in the FS forum, some indicator could be shown next to people who have enabled 2FA? That would add extra trust as their accounts can’t be easily hacked.

Didn’t even realize that TOTP was available here. For 1Password users, it’s super easy to enable it. Just make sure you save your backup codes in notes. As for @rhythmdevils - ouch, man. I wish we could live in a world where we could just trust people and didn’t have to worry about malfeasance.

probably not a new way, but I've been finding stuff by digging around the discogs marketplace recently. I'll find some seller who is selling a bunch of cds in a genre I like and just look through what they have for sale and look it up, I've ended up buying a decent number of cds for stuff I was curious about that's just not online this way also.

Youtube is surprisingly decent on recommendations. Especially power metal and more "samey" genres. Or even better, I can stumble upon a curated playlist. Not crazy quality, but good enough for sampling.

Are the Takatsukis kinda “clinical” for your taste? Any plans to roll other tubes? Let us know how you find the Stellaris

@joch @yotacowboy I'll definitely post impressions. They are more "clinical" than the Acme Globes but synergy will be important here. They work with the warmth of the Stellaris and my RD-4 . I'll write somethething more

Those would work better for absorbing sound reflections but not great for stopping it from getting out. You need mass.

Breathable squishy thing to convert air vibrations to heat. Non permeable dense thing to block the rest. If you're using an acoustic blanket to block an opening, then strongly consider some stick on velcro along the sides so there are no air gaps.

Might be too basic a rec, but browser add ons like fakespot do a great job with analyzing reviews. IME if it comes up with 4.5 stars-ish and A or B rating from fakespot chances are it’s a quality product. Makes browsing the Zon easy again.

I’d say it’s pretty un-important. Get something with decent AWG, and be done with it. Only if you have a bipolar +/- supply then you’ll like a cable with twisted cores. Making one yourself will be far cheaper and equally good to all that boutique stuff.

@internethandle that 1 foot one isn't quite long enough for the 2 noise nuke 2 FMC converter stack I'll have. Maybe 1 meter would be fine though. Coiled up neatly. Kind of bothers me, that extra cable, but maybe it'd be ok.

I don't know but maybe if you have one of those audio jewelry 2k iem cables it would be fun to try them on the HD800. I just thought it was such a funny adapter to have even made.

I think it's a reasonable product. The rubber on the factory senn cables dies after 5 years and if you have a spare cable with those connectors y not convert it

@ChaChaRealSmooth same reason I've got 3.5mm adapters on my ATH-R70x: to use existing high-quality cables instead of buying a new cable just for one weird headphone connector

More than 60 CDs showed up in the mail over the past couple of days. Always seems like fun when ordering, such a slog when fixing up whatever crack-induced metadata is in the databases. But hey, it keeps me busy!

Buying Elrog 300B's ($$$) cured me of this, I think. Turning them off means I'm not using them and I don't have to think about dropping insane money on tubes again anytime soon, hopefully (to be fair, they've lasted over a year now used!).
