3 wks spent with Geshelli Erish. I am seriously thinking asgard won't get verite headtime any longer. Now it feels too syrupy by comparison.

For dac, to me it's pretty clear bifrost 2 is too distinctly good. With that (and verites) fixed in the rig, my amping preference converges to this amp. Funny I quite consistently loathed thx, heresy, and atoms with verite. Now this tiny headamp takes nearly 95% of my headtime over continuity.

I'd have to charge a fair bit more for modding HE6/TH900 because there's a lot more labor / materials involved and also a fair bit of customization which can require experimentation on my part, which exponentially increases time investment.

"A Drop In The Ocean" has a version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" that is glorious. Amazing. "Into Unknown Worlds" has a version of "Amazing Grace" that is heavenly. Amazing. But both only available publicly in 16/44.1. I desperately want both of those tracks in high-res.

These are audiophile recordings. One of the tracks I use to demo the difference between CD and high-res is the first track on "The Doors Of Heaven". The bass drum in that track is recorded in a church acoustic. The bass drum sounds more lifelike and real in the high-res version. Transient and room sound more real. Get both the CD and high-res and compare. My gear is Gungnir MB A1, Cavalli LF, LCD-2 Classic.

Upside of speakers listening is that I can re-learn some concepts I thought completely wrong when only with headphones. Downside? It's inherently less personalized. Space and neighbors are the biggest limiting factors. For example, I can't reach to the optimal volume level I believe to have full macrodynamics.

On the other hands, headphone listenings are inherently f***ed with stereo recording. To hear it right, substantial adjustments needed using the brain consciously (i.e., hear past the practical limitations), which I found benefit from speakers listening.

philistine ... you need to use olive oil instead of mayonnaise. This olive oil: https://www.nvoliveoilmfg.com/online-store/Family-blend-EVOO-p88194754
trim steaks, pat dry, salt, coat in olive oil and then cover heavily in freshly ground black pepper. Let it marinate for several hours at room temp. Cook on grill at 700 deg F. Not too many grills can make that temp. The result will be well worth the effort.

At a cost of a bit edged and glared highs, it could mimic airs and speed I enjoyed with DSHA-3F (more artificially though). Interesting to see both Asgard 3 and Erish mimic different aspects of 3F wonders in their own ways -- conditioned by Verite pairing.

That is the beginning. The measurement options are a la carte. By the time one adds all the measurements such as Dynamic Range, IMD, Frequency Sweep, etc. the price jumps $500 for each additional measurement. Easy to hit $22,500 in the configuration quote. And you still need your own ADC and DAC. Might as well just buy the HW version.

@JellyRhino Erish. Wanted to utilize bifrost bal outs (se outs currently to asgard 3 lol). I personally think asgard 3 is much better but that's kinda apple vs orange. It sounds way much like refined jot. Cool, edged, heft, squared, clean, but not annoying like 789.

@monacelli That depends on which market you are. For those who acknowledge good and bad aspects of DS, Modius is already awesome in any outs. I'd take it over RME OGs even on SEs.

Bal outs are more different than better. Heft, air, but a little rough on highs.
