Enjoying the 800 talk around here lately. Feels like belonging to the dark side sometimes, ha. I really, really like mine.

Used especially (usually pretty well south of 1k now pretty regularly) it’s a pretty fantastic value proposition, as long as your chain is in order/to your liking.

Maybe you just need to meet the right mouse?

Seriously: using one that is too small could strain the finger, for instance. Having a mouse whose body comfortably accommodates the relaxed hand, requiring little or no effort click, on the other hand?

Unless you are gamer, or some other kind of manic clicker?

I've been using trackballs for many years for work (currently a logitech wireless model). I switched due to mouse-related RSI, but that mainly showed up as wrist and elbow pain. Since the trackball doesn't move that stress is completely eliminated. Not sure it would help with finger pain, as you still have buttons to click. I still use a mouse for gaming btw; trackballs suck for that purpose.

I have started regular finger stretching and that has helped. Will likely pick up a cheap wired trackball to see how it goes. Although I think I already know I will probably prefer the big ball one.

Recently had a $1K washer that was only a few years old fail, and the repairman sang the praises of a brand called Speed Queen. We ended up writing the old washer off and buying the TC5, and we're really happy with it. Has its tradeoffs (like everything) but our clothes have never been cleaner & it's built like a tank with a pretty great warranty.

After too many rounds with consumer crap we invested in commercial laundry equipment. Best investment ever. Works fine, lasts long time. Only change would be to add the coin operation metering for one of my sons that does all his laundry at our house.

I've recently moved over to Android for the first time. It's caught up in most ways, and doesn't prevent you using your phone the way you want to. Plus it is 4x cheaper to get a phone with a large screen. The Samsung Galaxy "A52s" is tremendous value. Even so I'd still recommend iPhone to anyone non technical, budget aside.

"Subjective impressions are great, really. Without them, what's the point..." This only means I try not to listen to the gear rather listen to the music.

An audio enthusiast with a recording degree. I became an audiophile in college in studying recording to become a mastering engineer. Although I was an intern for Glenn Meadows and also was acquaintances with Ray Kennedy, the stars never quite aligned for me. However I never left pursuing high-end audio.

I grew up in a radio station as my dad was in radio. My first job was a board op at the talk station where I had to use analog reel to reels, carts, cassettes, and DAT's.

And yes, I like to tinker with gear. I am an audiophile on a budget. Working IT Instructional Designer only gets you so much income with two kids around. Have you seen how much day care costs these days? Anyways, there are I guess some gains to some gear that can be tweaked to improve the performance. This is no different than car types changing differentials or beefing up the suspension or engine. Some of us can't afford a BMW, but rather have to take a Civic and beef it up with aftermarket parts.

Tinkering also helps with repairing gear. I have restored some KEF C75 speakers, an Elac Miracord 50H. I have also fixed, soldered, suped up, many other things from crossovers, to cap replacement, to op-amp replacement, etc. I most recently fixed and rebuilt a non-working Dynalo. I took electronics and studio maintenance in college, but I am still learning.

I have also built: guitar tube amps, guitars, and drums. I love DIY.
