Found locally upgraded Thinkpad X130e for $120. 500 SSD HD, 8 GB RAM, W10, lappy from 2011 runs nice. Seller gave me a lappy bag.

Indeed. I was quite surprised on what's in it. Also reminds me, I think ATM computer tech has plateau. It wasn't like the 80s/90s.

I agree, you can throw a few upgrades on a older device and still have a very usable machine right now.

My 2014 Lenovo y70 still runs great with a 500gb SSD and upgrade to 16gb ram. Trying to convince my wife her 2012 Asus needs an SSD, but it still works pretty good stock.

My wife and I cut cable TV about 3 years ago, we only have cable internet. We upgraded to the Shield TV 2 years ago from a Fire TV and the Shield is miles ahead of the Fire TV in every way. Its very easy to "cut the cord" with the Shield. It's overpowered as a streamer and its very good with game streaming or local emulations.

I currently have a PS4 in the living room. It does most of the streaming duties. However, I do find the interface to be "chunky," since well it's a video game console. Sega Saturn emulation is tempting.

It has been impeccable as a streamer via apps and from my NAS. I can't wait to try it as a game streamer so I can play emulated 4K Breath of the Wild on my 65"

In my case, I found big help from reframing subconscious "negative energy" and beliefs. It is a form of transformation of changing your personality for the best. Not easy to do though. The subconscious stressor that you might not be aware of drag you down and waste mental energy.

I wore 4 layers to the office today, with the outer layer being a quilted and windproof pair of Carharrt overalls. I may have looked odd, but I was toasty till my jeep finally warmed up.

If you don't need to go out, stay inside friends. I have mild frostbite on my thumb from taking off my glove for two minutes to pump gas.

I still think buying Hi-Res isn't good value in 2019. Happy with the 16/44 stuff I been buying from Qobuz without the upcharge. Am I crazy?

If the hi-res has a unique mastering that is good, I go for it. If a CD has superior mastering to any hi-res version of an album, I go for the CD. IMO people who listen to digital should use both unless their DAC only handles 16/44.

Amen, all about the mastering. I only buy "hi-res" when it's an edition that I couldn't get cheaper on CD. At the end of the day, a well-mastered version is what makes the biggest difference.

Tidal integration wasn't worth it for me. Spotify's catalog is large, curation and algorithm both great, and sound quality for premium is damned good. Qobuz, though - as a hi-res classical fan I'm thrilled.
